NCP Vice Chair Gautam dismisses rumors of becoming Home Minister

KATHMANDU: Vice Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bam Dev Gautam has dismissed news reports saying he was being appointed as the Home Minister soon.

Issuing a press note on Friday, NCP’s Vice Chairman Gautam, who has remained neutral in the ongoing dispute between the two factions of the NCP, has denounced the news and expressed regret against it saying that has defamed his character.

“The evil attempt to smear my character has come to surface once again,” Gautam, who has been working on uniting the rifting NCP, said in a press statement issued on Friday.

“Some media outlets have spread false and misleading news that Bam Dev is joining incumbent government under KP Oli, that is baseless and misleading,” he has said clarifying that he is committed to the fact that the party should be united and is striving to make his campaign a success.
