NC denounces dismissal of Province 2 Chief

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has condemned the dismissal of Province 2 Chief Tilak Pariyar by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma denounced the dismissal of Province 2 Chief Pariyar as a “continuation of the reversing procedure” of the previous decision as done in the first week of PM Oli led government formation.

“The government had arbitrarily reversed the appointment done by previous government last year, now repeating the same trend, the government has further diminished the dignity of the Province Chief,” NC Spokesperson has said in the statement.

He also described the dismissal of the Province Chief and the appointment of new one as “morally wrong and objectionable”.

Denouncing Friday’s move, NC has reiterated that the government turned ad-hoc due to its own unconstitutional move of dissolution of the House of Representatives has no authority of dismissal and appointment.
