Congress Leader Mitrasen Dahal passes away



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Okhaldhunga General Committee member and former secretary of the district working committee Mitrasen Dahal has passed away on Friday.

According to Nepali Congress Party Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, he died at Om Hospital at 9:45 this morning.

He was rushed to Om Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Dahal, who was born in Baruneshwar-4 of Okhaldhunga district on November 19, 1962, was repeatedly jailed for one and half year during the Satyagraha and Democratic Movement in 1985.

Apart from politics, he has been involved in dozens of governmental and non-governmental, business, social, educational and various organizations for a long time.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. His funeral will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat today at 3 pm. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed deep sorrow over his demise and paid tribute to him.
