Dispute postpones closed session of Maoist Center’s Province 2 convention

KATHMANDU: The closed session under the Province 2 convention of the CPN-Maoist Center has been postponed until Sunday due to a dispute in the selection process of delegates.

The closed session had been fixed to take place at Lalbandi in Sarlahi Saturday following the inaugural of the party’s Province 2 convention in Janakpurdham on December 11.

Maoist Center Province 2 In-charge Prahlad Budathoki said that the closed session was postponed until 11 am Sunday after a dispute arose regarding the selection of delegates in some local levels of the province. Efforts are underway to resolve the dispute in areas concerned, he added.

Representatives and party leaders from across the province arriving in Lalbandi to participate in the closed session are wondering about the session following the postponement.

Though the Province 2 convention of the Maoist Center was inaugurated in Janakpurdham on December 11, the closed session had been slated for today as delegates from many local levels were yet to be elected then.
