Govt promotes, transfers and extends tenure of several Nepal Army officers

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to promote, transfer and extend the tenure of military officers serving at various ranks in the Nepal Army.

Government Spokesperson as well as Minister of Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, announcing the decision of the cabinet on Thursday, said the government decided to promote Brigadier General Dr. Arun Kumar Neupane and four officer cadets.

Likewise, the government also decided to promote Brigadier General Sagar Bahadur KC (honorary promotion) and Colonel Khageshwor Aryal (special promotion) to the higher rank before their retirement.

Further, the tenure of Nepal Army’s Brigadier General Hegendra Lal Maharjan and Colonel Khum Bahadur Kunwar Chettri in the Military Technical Service will be extended by two years.

The government also decided to transfer several Lieutenant Generals, Brigadier Generals and Colonels of Nepal Army.

The government also approved the first amendment order to the Infrastructure Development Committee of the National Defense University.
