Three Nepalis buried to death in landslide in Uttarakhand, India



KATHMANDU: Three Nepali workers have been killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Uttarakhand State of India on Monday. Two others have been injured.

According to Pauri District Magistrate Vijay Kumar Jogdande, hotel workers were staying by setting up a tent at Samakhal. They were buried when a soil mound fell from the upper part due to continuous rain.

Two persons injured in the incident have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the state government urged people not to visit temples in the Himalayan region until the weather improves.

Earlier, India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for Uttarakhand with a forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the state on Monday.
