Ruling parties are like ice cubes, they’ll melt and vanish after next election: UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has remarked that the parties in the ruling coalition are like ice cubes and would disappear after the next general election.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu Saturday, he claimed the parties in the ruling coalition would be defeated in the next 14 months. “Election is to be in 14 months. After that, these parties will be nowhere to be found,” Oli said.

“These are ice cubes made in the fridge. They are not naturally formed ice. Keep them outside and see them melt away. Much thought should not be given to them.”

Stating that the parties in the ruling coalition had protested against his attempt to hold the election and called the move regressive, the UML Chair said that elections must take place in 14 months. “Election should be conducted after 14 months. When election will be held, will the country forever sink into regression?” He asked.

“When there is the popular mandate, it becomes regression. What kind of ruler are these dictators looking for?”
