KATHMANDU: America has registered a comfortable six-wicket win over Nepal in the One Day International (ODI) triangular series under the ICC World Cup League-2.
America reached the target of 175 runs set by Nepal by losing four wickets in 29.3 overs at Al Amerat Stadium of Oman on Friday. In its victory, opener Steven Taylor played an excellent innings. Taylor made highest 92 runs including 13 fours and three wickets off 63 balls.
Similarly, Monank Patel contributed 38 unbeaten runs while Jaskaran Malhotra hit 36 runs. In reply, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took two wickets each of America.
Earlier, put to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal registered 174 runs in 48 overs losing all wickets. Nepal’s Captain Gyanendra Malla notched up highest 55 runs with three boundaries.
Similarly, opener Kushal Bhurtel contributed 36 runs while debut cricketer Gulshan Jhaved 28 runs.
US Captain Saurav Netrabhalkar took four wickets while Keli Philip sent three batsmen to pavilion. Three other bowlers took one each.
