Ex-British Gurkha army activist Gurung hospitalized



LONDON: Secretary of the British Gurkha United Struggle Committee, Dhan Gurung, who has been staging a fast-unto-death for the 11 days demanding equal pay, has been hospitalized.

Gurung was hospitalized on the tenth day of the hunger strike on Tuesday evening.

Diabetic and high blood pressure patient Gurung has been suffering from illness.

Committee Director Gyan Raj Rai, Secretary Dhan Gurung, women activist Pushpa Rana Ghale have been staging a fast-unto-death outside the 10 Downing Street, London, since August 7.

They resorted to the fast-unto-death after staging a 17-day relay hunger strike starting from July 21.
