Government cancels appointment process of 11 ambassadors



KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers has decided to cancel the appointment process of ambassadors to 11 countries recommended by the erstwhile KP Oli-led government.

According to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the cabinet meeting held on Friday decided to halt the appointment process even though the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had already written to the countries concerned.

The then Oli-led government had appointed Jeevan Prakash Shrestha for Egypt, Sumnima Tuladhar for Australia, Nirmal Raj Kafle for Austria, Krishna Chandra Sharma for South Korea, Ramesh Chandra Poudel for Sri Lanka, Jung Bahadur Chuhan for Russia, Yuvraj Karki for Bahrain, Narayan Prasad Sangraula for Myanmar, Kul Prasad Nepal for Brazil, Sumitra Subedi for Denmark, and Meraj Musalman to Saudi Arabia as ambassadors.
