NC CWC meeting underway

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee (CWC) has started, albeit two hours late than the schedule.

The NC CWC meeting called for 1 pm Friday could not start on time as leaders were involved in internal discussions before the CWC meet.

The leaders are discussing how to hold the party’s 14th general convention on September 1-4 as the country is in the grip of the coronavirus pandemic. NC office-bearers were also engaged in internal discussions earlier.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, at CWC meeting held Thursday, was of the view that the general convention should be held at any cost on the stipulated time. In this regard, he had asked leaders to present their views. The party had also approved its general convention’s revised schedule Thursday.
