Karnali UML PP recalls its three ministers in provincial government

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the UML Karnali Province Parliamentary Party (PP) has directed three ministers participating in the provincial government to resign immediately.

A meeting of the Karnali UML PP Friday decided to recall UML lawmakers Amar Bahadur Thapa, Kurmaraj Shahi and Nanda Singh Budha from the government, said Chief Whip Gulav Jung Shah.

Lawmaker Prakash Jwala, along with the three ministers, crossed the floor on April 16 and gave a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi going against party directive.

CM Shahi had later appointed Thapa, Shahi, and Budha as ministers.

Subsequently, the four leaders had been relieved of their posts by the CPN-UML and have been recently reinstated by the Supreme Court (SC).

Following their reinstatement, Chief Whip Gulav Jung Shah is of the view that they should start following the direction of the UML PP.
