Spain visit fruitful, says NA Chair Timilsina

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of National Assembly (NA) Ganesh Prasad Timilsina on Sunday said that his recent visit to Spain was fruitful.

At a news conference organized in the capital to inform about his visit, NA Chair Timilsina expressed hope that the visit would further strengthen relations between the two nations and the Lumbini park project to be constructed in Spain would remain as a bridge in deepening bilateral relations.

“The project based in Cáceres city will play an important role to publicize Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, at the international level. It will also inspire Buddhist followers to visit the birthplace of Buddha and be aware of Nepal’s arts, culture, ethnicity, Himalayas and nature,” he said.

A Nepali delegation led by NA Chair Timilsina last Tuesday reached Spain to attend the Peace Conference that concluded on Friday. At the conference and high level meetings held in Spain, Timilsina urged all attending the conference and meetings to spread Buddha’s message of peace to the global community.

Speaking virtually from Spain, Lumbini Garden Foundation Chair Jose Manuel Vilanova put his views on various subjects concerning the expansion of relations between two countries through the linkage of spiritualism and peace.

Foundation Vice Chair Govinda Subedi expressed his confidence that the friendly relations between Spain and Nepal would further strengthen. The Conference was organized by the Lumbini Peace Foundation.

Other members of the delegation visiting Spain were Mayor of Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality Manmohan Chaudhary, Mayor of Ramgram Municipality Narendra Kumar Gupta, Mayor of Kapilvastu Municipality Kiran Singh, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Devdaha Municipality, Hira Bahadur Khatri and Bidhya Laxmi Gurung respectively and chief architect of Lumbini Peace Garden Ujjwal Man Shakya among others.
