Perpetrators of Maina Sunwar will be booked:  PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced to form a taskforce to address the issues of those affected by the armed conflict.

At a meeting with the families of security personnel killed during the insurgency and the injured security personnel on Thursday, the Prime Minister promised to address the problems of conflict-hit people by with a taskforce.

The Prime Minister said that wounds of conflict should be gradually healed through amnesty and needed support to the victims. The sufferings of single women, their parents and their dependents are similar no matter which side killed the victims, the PM stated.

Prime Minister Oli also said that the families of conflict-hit living without pension were facing more hardships. The number of political activists and common people not involved to any of the side but getting victim is quite big. A conclusion should be drawn by sitting for a consultation with all stakeholders to address the demands of them all,” the PM said.

The politics of revenge should be discarded no matter of the past affiliation in the time of conflict, Oli said. “Now, we should be moved with the spirit of forgive and forget’. However, the perpetrators involved in the heinous and serious crimes like that of Maina Sunar will be booked whoever is involved, the PM added.

Similarly, PM Oli said that problems of even the discharged Maoist PLA combatants are serious.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ and the government’s high ranking officials were also present at the meeting, PM Oli’s press advisor Surya Thapa said.
