Paragliding set to start in Udayapur

UDAYAPUR: The paragliding which remained inhibited for months due to COVID-19 is set to start in Belaka municipality in Udayapur district.

The municipality had planned to begin professional paragliding with the aim of promoting local tourism incorporating areas of Mainamaini a year ago.

The professional paragliding has reached the final stage at the initiation of the Belaka municipality, said Mayor Durga Kumar Thapa.

The paragliding will take place at the site of Bopatang Danda and Champakot from the second week of April, according to Thapa.

Over 50 youths from Belaka municipality have taken training on paragliding operations and flights. Fntrepreneurs from Daran, Belaka municipality and Pokhara have invested over Rs 30 million in the in the paragliding industry.
