Six Nepalis including two women scale Dhampus Peak

KATHMANDU: Six Nepali nationals including two women have successfully scaled 6,012 meters tall Dhampus Peak.

According to Jeevan Raj Sapkota, the coordinator of mountaineering team, two Nepali women and four men reached atop Mt Dhampus at 11:48 am on January 16.

They scaled the peak at the joint initiation of Nepal Tourism Board (Gandaki Pradesh) and Nepal Mountaineering Association (Gandaki Pradesh) to promote the domestic tourism badly hit by the COVID-19.

They climbed the peak at the technical assistance of the Nepal Mountaineering Association after taking permission from the Department of Tourism.

Tashi Pasang Gurung (Mustang), Manu Gurung (Manang), Dipesh Babu Subedi (Kaski), San Kumar Jugjali (Myagdi), Sudeep Gautam (Kaski), and Hira Kumari Malla (Syangja) were were in the team.

On January 11, Chief Minister of Gandaki Pradesh Prithvi Subba Gurung had handed over the flags of Nepal Mountaineering Association and Nepal Tourism Board to them .
