KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress’ (NC) 14th general convention has finalized the party’s new leadership with vote count results of all 13 office bearers already public.
The NC’s 14th general convention kicked off Friday and voting began for party’s 134 of the 167 Central Working Committee (CWC) members, including 13 office bearers, Tuesday.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been re-elected as NC President; Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhanraj Gurung are the newly elected two vice presidents; Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma the two general secretaries; Umakanta Chaudhary, Kishor Singh Rathor, Mahendra Yadav, Mahalakshmi Upadhyay (Dina), Jeevan Pariyar, Badri Pandey, Farmullah Mansur and Bhishma Raj Angdembe are the elected eight joint general secretaries of the party.
Vote count of above mentioned 13 office bearers concluded Friday.
Now, counting of votes of the remaining 132 CWC members is to begin.
Two CWC members have already been elected unopposed.
Of the 167-member CWC, voting took place for 134 members while the remaining 33 members will be nominated by the NC president as per the statute of the party.
