Maoist Centre will emerge number one in Madhes: Prachanda

MAHOTTARI: Chairperson of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that the Maoist Center would emerge number one party in the Madhes in the forthcoming election.

“The party will become number one in Province 2, the heart of the Madhes, in the next elections. People will sweep away fake ones in the polls. We have led the struggle for freedom of the Madhes and Madhesi people. Madhesi people will make us number one party,” he said while addressing a public assembly at Ramgopalpur in the district on Wednesday.

Maintaining that he himself twice proposed a constitution amendment for the rights of Madhesi people, he pledged to amend the constitution for this sake by making the party number one. “We attempted to address demands of the Madhes by amending the constitution. But this could not happen due to lack of majority votes for it. The CPN-UML did not support the proposal as well.”

On problems surfaced in the judiciary lately, the former Prime Minister said that the issues would be resolved within some days. He also pledged to continue his efforts for the educational development and providing access to health to people in the district.
