No initiative from ruling parties to resolve parliament obstruction: UML leader Rawal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal has said that the ruling parties did not take any initiative to clear the obstruction of the parliament.

Addressing a program held by Press Chautari Achham at district headquarters Mangalsen Friday, Rawal said, “It seems that the current government and the ruling coalition parties are moving ahead with their majority instead of resolving the obstruction of the parliament. The government should have taken initiative to seek a proper solution, but that has not happened.”

He said the current government’s apathy towards the people led to the situation of a budget holiday. “This is the first time in the history of Nepal that such a problem has arisen,” he added. “Even in such times, those in the government are not worried. Another irony is that the cabinet is yet to be expanded even after two months since government formation.”

Rawal also criticized the ordinance on political parties brought by the government.

Meanwhile, he told that he was still the UML’s vice-chairman and in charge and coordinator of Sudurpaschim Province, as per the party statute. He also assured home district folks that he received instructions from the leadership to work in coordination with Lekhraj Bhatt and Karna Thapa to facilitate the situation in the province.
