NC Poudel faction calls for holding ward convention in Dadeldhura again

KATHMANDU: The Poudel faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) has put pressure on the Central Election Committee (CEC) to convene a ward convention in Dadeldhura, the home district of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel’s group on Thursday piled pressure on the CEC demanding that the ward convention be held in Dadeldhura again.

The leaders arrived at the central office in Sanepa yesterday afternoon and held discussions with the Election Committee for about one and a half hours.

During the meeting, senior leader Poudel asked, “How did the ward convention take place in Dadeldhura amidst the disagreement of two-thirds majority of the district chairman? Why did you hold a convention despite disagreements?”
