Rapist arrested after seven months



MAHENDRANAGAR: Kanchanpur Police have arrested a man who had been on the run after being sentenced by the court for rape.

The rapist was arrested after seven months of being pronounced guilty for the heinous act.

Bishnu Rana, a resident of Krishnapur municipality-9 had been sentenced to one year in prison along with a penalty of Rs. 100,000 by the District Court Kanchanpur in January earlier this year.

Rana was arrested from his hideout near his home, said Chief of District Police Office, Kanchanpur Uma Prasad Chaturvedi.

Rana has been sent to prison to fulfill the sentence by the court.
