President’s Office submits response to SC on HoR dissolution

KATHMANDU: The President’s Office has submitted a written response on the issue of dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) to the Supreme Court (SC).

The President’s Office on Thursday submitted the response to the SC through the Office of the Attorney General.

In the response, the President’s Office has written that there was the repetition of lawmakers in both Sher Bahadur Deuba and KP Sharma Oli’s claims and lawmakers had also extended support going against their party’s decision.

“None of the claimants’ could be appointed the Prime Minister as both claims could not provide sufficient grounds for assuring vote of confidence of the parliament. Also, common supporters for both claimants’ were also observed and some supported the claimants contrary to the decision of their parties,” said the letter submitted by the President’s Office.
