28 years on, Dasdhunga incident still remains in mystery: UML leader Nepal



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has asked the government to investigate the Dasdhunga Incident and unveil the reality surrounding it at the earliest.

Issuing a press note on the Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day today, leader Nepal said the Dasdhunga Incident in which communist leaders Madan Bhandari and Jibaraj Ashrit perished has remained in mystery ever after 28 years have elapsed by.

“The reality behind the Dasdhunga incident that took the lives of leaders Madan Bhandari and Jibraj Ashrit has not come out even after 28 years of the incident,” said Nepal in the statement.

He further said the death of Amar Lama who is connected with the incident has made it further mysterious.

Offering tributes to the late leaders — Bhandari and Ashrit — Nepal has asked the government to bring the facts behind the Dasdhunga incident to the fore at the earliest.

It is a high time all Nepali people stood united to achieve the dream of peaceful and prosperous Nepal equipped with social justice envisaged by leader duo Bhandari and Ashrit, said Nepal.
