Humla’s Adanchuli closes down all services for a week



HUMLA: Adanchuli Rural Municipality of Humla district has decided to close down its all services for a week following the rise in the number of coronavirus infected.

Vice Chairperson of the rural municipality, Saumati Eidi shared that all works and services of Adanchuli have been shut down after 50 percent among those tested were diagnosed with COVID-19.

An all-party meeting of the rural municipality on Sunday had decided to close down the operation of the rural municipality services effective from Sunday itself.

Earlier, the rural municipality had decided to seal off its area since last Saturday after seven persons who underwent Antigen test were diagnosed with the coronavirus infection.

The meeting also decided to shut down the internet services operational at the rural municipality and ward offices from May 17-23.

The decision was made to avoid high turn up of internet users at the offices in view of heightened risk of coronavirus outbreak.

Vice Chairperson Eidi informed that people can travel from one village to another only at the recommendation of ward chairpersons during the lockdown.

“All hotels and shops operated within the rural municipality have been completely shut down up to May 23. Even all the development works except the construction works being carried out with the use of machine have been closed during the period”.

Meanwhile, a decision was made to seal off ward 7 of the Simkot rural municipality since Sunday taking into consideration the rise in the spike of the COVID-19 caseload.

Ward Chairperson Raj Bahadur Shahi shared that the ward has also sealed off its area during the period of prohibitory order enforced by the district.
