Kathmandu valley turns pandemic hub again

560 active cases in Kathmandu Metropolis alone



KATHMANDU: Once relieved to witness the coronavirus cases in two digits, Kathmandu valley has become a coronavirus hub again despite the federal government’s claims of precautions against the pandemic spread.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population sources, the claim about the precautions have proved false as the valley has been witnessing the hiking cases of coronavirus pandemic of late.

The source claimed that there are 560 active cases of corona virus in 32 wards of Kathmandu Metropolitan City alone.

However, despite the increasing number of active cases in the capital city, the government seems relaxed as it has not felt the pressure in the COVID-19 hospitals.

o the great relief for the government, out of 560 active cases in the Kathmandu metropolis, 513 are in home isolation, 32 in hospitals and 15 in institutional isolation.

The most active infected people in the metropolis are in ward number 16. The ward alone has got 73 active cases.

The valley had reported 348 fresh cases of coronavirus pandemic on Friday; out of which Kathmandu got 286 cases, Lalitpur 43 and Bhaktapur 19.
