Three held for thrashing youth to death



KHOTANG: Khotang Police has arrested three individuals on the charge of murdering 34-year-old Ajit Rai alias Khadka of Tuwachung Municipality-5 in the district.

The arrested are Laxmi Rai, 34, Daindra Rai, 30, and 16-year-old teenage girl of Ratmate, said District Police Office, Khotang.  Critically injured Ajit died while being rushed to a local health post.

A police team deployed from Area Police Office, Halesi arrested the trio for their involvement in thrashing the victim to death. According to Laxmi Rai, an arrestee, Ajit was beaten for intruding into the room of women.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking the murder-accused under control.
