NC update: Out of 600 votes counted, Gagan Thapa gets 389 votes



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) youth leader Gagan Thapa, a candidate for the party General Secretary, has got 389 votes as of now.

According to the preliminary results, about two-thirds of the delegates voted for Gagan Thapa, which is around 65 percent of the votes.

Bishwaprakash Sharma is in second place with 229 votes, Pradip Poudel in third place with 206 votes, and Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat with 193 votes.

Likewise, Dr. Minendra Rijal has got 108 votes so far.

Dr. Mahat and Poudel are the candidates from the panel of party President Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba while Dr. Rijal and Gagan Thapa are from the Shekhar Koirala camp.

Bishwaprakash Sharma, on the other hand, has given his candidature from Prakash Man Singh’s panel.
