China-returnee medical students stage demonstration in Maitighar (In Pics)

KATHMANDU: Medical students, who returned from China, have staged demonstration demanding urgent facilitation of internship in Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu, Thursday.

They complained that even after completing their medical course in China and stuck at home upon their return due to COVID-19, they have been deprived of internship opportunity to complete their course. Internships are mandatory part of course work in medical studies

They demonstrated with banners asking why their internship was being late. The demonstrations began from Tuesday. Demonstrators sought implementation of the decision of Medical Education Commission to facilitate China-returnee medical students.

They also drew the attention of the Nepal Medical Council by writing point number 3 of the internship rule on the placard.

Students have also taken to social media to protest.
