18 industrialists of Butwal-Bhairahawa corridor sue NEA



BUTWAL: Dispute over trunk line electricity tariff of Butwal-Bhairahawa corridor industry has reached the court. 18 industrialists of Butwal-Bhairahawa corridor have sued Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in Rupandehi District Court on Monday.

The disgruntled industrialists of the corridor have argued that they have not demanded and used the trunk line electricity.

The petitioners have made the central office of the Nepal Electricity Authority and its three distribution centers, including the customer service directorate, Kathmandu the defendants in the case.

According the Court sources, 14 industrialists have filed seperate cases against the Nepal Electricity Authority Bhairahawa Distribution Center, Nepal Electricity Authority Central Office, Distribution and Customer Service Directorate. Three industries have made the New Mill Distribution Center, Central Office and directorate of NEA their opponent whereas one industrialist has filed the petition against the Butwal Distribution Center.

There has been a dispute between NEA and 23 industrialists in the corridor for two years over the issue of trunk line connected to the industry four years ago.

The industrialists claim that five more industries will file the petition in near future.

“Five are working out on their papers so will file their petitions soon,” one of the industrialists said under anonymity.
