Govt appoints Uma Shankar Prasad as NPC member



KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Uma Shankar Prasad of Rautahat as a member of the National Planning Commission (NPC).

A cabinet meeting held Monday appointed Prasad to the NPC.

According to sources, Prasad is appointed on the basis on recommendation from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav.

Prasad, who hails from Rautahat, is an economist and holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India.
