KATHMANDU: The government is making preparations to relieve Chief of Province 2 Rajesh Jha of his post.

The erstwhile Oli-led government had on February 19 appointed Jha after removing former Province Chief Tilak Pariyar. The incumbent government led by Nepali Congress is now preparing to remove Jha, too.

“Preparations are underway to relieve Chief of Province 2 Rajesh Jha of his post,” said a source close to Prime Minister Deuba, adding, “The government will appoint a Madhesh-based politician as the new Province Chief.”

The government will take this decision probably today itself, the source has informed. The Deuba government, earlier, had changed the chiefs of Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province.
