Govt to bring 10 million COVID-19 vaccines by mid-October

To make strategy for immediate, medium and long-term economic recovery



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the government is making preparations to bring 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines by mid-October.

The government has already brought 10.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far.

Speaking at a virtual meeting Sunday on the challenges and responsibilities posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Deuba said the government was committed to vaccinating all the people suitable for vaccination by mi-April.

A total of 7.8 million people, including 3.2 million who have been fully vaccinated so far this weekend, have received at least the first dose of the vaccine and up to 367,000 people a day, said Prime Minister Deuba.

Deuba has said that the government will formulate strategies against COVID-19 based on the advice of health experts and work for immediate, medium and long-term economic recovery.
