UML Chair Oli warns against efforts to split party though ordinance

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has warned that there could be efforts to split the party by issuing an ordinance.

Addressing the UML parliamentary party (PP) meeting in New Baneshwor Friday, Chair Oli claimed the Supreme Court had faulted by admitting forged petitions. “The plot began when the Constitutional Bench was reconstituted after facing pressure from petitioners and Nepal BAR Association. We do not agree with the court decision but will implement it as we are a parliamentary force.”

Stating that there could be more plots against the UML, he warned ordinance could be brought to split the party. “Hurdles might be created for the party in provincial and local levels,” he warned.
