China to provide additional 1.6 mln vaccines to Nepal

KATHMANDU: China will be providing an additional 1.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi conveyed in this regard to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in her meeting with the leader earlier Friday.

To date, 1.8 million doses of the vaccines given by China in grant have arrived here.

The government has also inked an agreement to procure some 4 million doses of vaccine, of which 800,000 have already arrived, from China.
