Govt unveils tax payment schedule



KATHMANDU: The Inland Revenue Department has unveiled the schedule for paying various taxes.

The department has made public the schedule for submitting the tax as per the decision of the Ministry of Finance on June 16 under Section 19 of the Finance Act 2077 BS.

Issuing a public notice by the department on Wednesday, it has been mentioned in the information that the value-added tax (VAT) should be paid on a monthly basis for the month of Chaitra 2077 (March 14, 2021-April 13, 2021)  and Baishakh 2078 (April 14, 2021 – May 14, 2021) and for the bi-monthly tax of  Baishakh 2078.

Similarly, according to the Income Tax Act 2058, the advance tax-deductible amount for the month of Chaitra 2077 BS and Baishakh 2078 BS has to be paid by July 9.

Likewise, the Education Service Tax, Telephone Ownership Tax, Telecommunication Service Tax of Chaitra 2077 BS, and Baishakha 2078 BS have to be paid within July 9.
