PM Oli indicates budget will be brought thru parliament

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has indicated that the fiscal budget for the upcoming year would be brought through the parliament.

On Sunday, when the media asked the PM how the budget would be presented, PM Oli tersely said, “Parliament is still alive.”

PM Oli recommended to end the special session of the parliament on May 10 after losing the vote of confidence.

The question about budget was thrown at the PM while he exited from the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durba Sunday, where he held one-on-one talks with senior UML leader Madhav Nepal to resolve outstanding issues in the party.

While many were speculating that the PM might present the budget through an ordinance, PM Oli today indicated otherwise.
