Karnali UML recommends expulsion, revoking membership of dissident leaders

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has recommended action against its lawmakers who crossed the floor in Karnali Province Assembly (PA) against the party decision Friday.

UML lawmakers Prakash Jwala, Amar Thapa, Kurmraj Shahi and Nanda Singh Buda voted to support Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Shahi, going against the party decision in Karnali Province.

An emergency meeting of UML Karnali parliamentary party (PP) held in Surkhet this evening has recommended to expel and revoke party membership of the four leaders. All the four leaders belong to the Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal camp of the CPN-UML, who have been carrying out parallel activities across the country.

Karnali UML is preparing to forward the action to the center in line with party constitution, said Karnali UML in-charge Yam Lal Kandel.
