Maoist Center urges PM Oli to resign

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) has urged Prime Minister KP Oli to resign with immediate effect.

A parliamentary party meet held Tuesday concluded that the prime minister should not remain in the post as the Supreme Court reinstated the Parliament by ruling against the PM’s move of dissolving the House of Representatives, said MP Barshaman Pun ‘Ananta’.

However, the meeting could not decide on withdrawal of Maoist Center’s support to the government.

He also informed they decided to write a letter to express their views on the issue of six Maoist lawmakers defecting to the CPN-UML.

Similarly, the meeting decided to retain Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as the parliamentary party leader and Dev Gurung as the chief whip, Pun said.

During the meeting, parliamentary party leader Prachanda briefed Maoist leaders on recent political developments.
