NC cadres arrested for chanting vulgar slogans against PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly insulting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during an anti-government protest in Pyuthan.

The arrested are Punram Khatri, leader of Nepal Students Union, a sister organization of Nepali Congress, and Sagar GM, an activist.

According to DSP Sunil Malla of the District Police Office, Pyuthan, the two were taken into custody after receiving a verbal petition alleging obscene slogans.

The arrested student leader Khatri said that he has not chanted obscene slogans against PM Oli.

“We had come to the district headquarters from Swargadwari Municipality-9 to participate in the protest,” he said.

A protest was held at the district headquarters on Monday against the dissolution of the House of Representatives as announced by the Nepali Congress.
