Meeting of NC district presidents postponed as Deuba calls CC meeting

KATHMANDU: A meeting of Nepali Congress (NC) district presidents called by party senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has been postponed after party President Sher Bahadur Deuba called the party’s central committee meeting for Wednesday.

The faction led by Poudel has convened a meeting of district presidents to take necessary strategy and put pressure on Deuba as the latter’s term was coming to an end, party sources said.

The NC is holding its central committee meeting on Wednesday.

Krishna Prasad Poudel, Chief Secretary at the NC central office said that the meeting will be held at the party office at 2 pm.

Poudel said all central committee members, and office-bearers have been invited to attend the meeting.

It should be recalled that party senior leader Poudel had urged Deuba to call a meeting of the central committee to discuss the government’s moves of making political developments and appointments at the constitutional bodies.

The party has been opposing the appointments at the constitutional bodies.
