Election can’t be held without resolving NCP dispute: Sharma

SALYAN: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Standing Committee Member Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’ has said that the election cannot be held by keeping the dispute of the party on hold.

He said that polls can’t be held on announced dates as the dispute over the official reorganization of the NCP is currently under consideration at the Election Commission.

Speaking at a press meet organized by Press Organization Nepal, Salyan on Tuesday, Sharma said, “Now, the dispute within the NCP has reached to the climax. Mid-term elections cannot be held under any circumstances. People will go against polls if held under such a situation.”

The current dispute in the party is not for position and prestige but for political stability and building a prosperous Nepal, he claimed.

He said that dissolving the Parliament by trampling the constitution is like repealing the constitution, adding that his party and the people were confident that Parliament will be reinstated.
