KATHMANDU: A case has been filed against 42 persons including the General Secretary of the outlawed Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav and Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma for murdering a teacher.

The case was filed at the District Court, Morang against them two months after the murder of a teacher Rajendra Shrestha, 54, of Barkhe in Miklajung Rural Municipality-1 in Morang district.

According to Information Officer at the court Rajendra Prasad Dhamala, the police had submitted the case before the district attorney’s office naming 42 people as defendants.

The case was registered at the district court yesterday.

Shrestha, a headmaster of the local Saraswoti Primary School, was abducted from his house and taken to a nearby jungle where he was killed by the rebel faction, on December 7.

Issuing a statement, the outfit had taken responsibility for the murder claiming that Shrestha died in retaliation.
