Israeli Ambassador Goder calls on Tourism Minister Ale



KATHMANDU: Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder has paid a courtesy call on Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale at the latter’s office Monday.

The talks in the meeting focused on relations between the two countries, mutual cooperation and collaboration.

On the occasion, Ambassador Goder assured that the Israeli government would take initiative for direct flights between Israel and Kathmandu. At the same time, Ambassador Godar informed the Minister that the Israeli government is willing to operate direct flights between Israel and Bhairahawa.

Ambassador Goder also said that Israel is scheduled to fly at least one thousand Nepali workers to Israel within two weeks and that the Israeli government was willing to charter a Nepal Airlines Corporation aircraft for the purpose.

Likewise, Ambassador Goder expressed concern over unequal airfares for foreigners and Nepalis in Nepal’s domestic aviation market.

Minister Ale told Ambassador Goder that the Nepal government was looking forward to the direct air link between Nepal and Israel. Minister Ale also assured Ambassador Goder that he would take initiative to reduce the unequal airfares for foreigners and Nepalis in domestic aviation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Goder also invited Minister Ale to be the chief guest at an Israeli film screening program, where one-of-its-kind technology that enables watching movies on 50 big screens from a vehicle would be introduced in Nepal.

Accepting the invitation, Minister Ale thanked Israel for its assistance in various fields of Nepal and expressed confidence that the assistance would continue in the days to come.

Minister Ale also requested Ambassador Goder to help coordinate the construction of the second international airport being built in Nijgadh through government to government modality or help find investors for the construction of the airport. In this regard, Ambassador Goder assured to take necessary coordination and initiative.
