Three killed, six injured in Gulmi jeep fall

KATHMANDU: Three people died and six others sustained injuries when a jeep met with an accident in Resunga municipality in Gulmi district on Thursday night.

The deceased have been identified as 70-year-old Chhetra Bahadur Thapa and Radhika Thapa,40, of Musikot municipality-2 and Sangita Sunar of Musikot Municipality-3, Neta, said District Police Office, Gulmi.

The ill-fated jeep, Lu 1 Ja 4490, went out of control and fell some 500 meters down the road in Resunga municipality-10, Chhahara at 11 pm yesterday. The jeep was heading to Tamghas, the district headquarters of Gulmi, carrying people from Butwal for Dashain celebration.

Six others including the driver have sustained injuries in the accident.

The injured are driver Kamal Thapa, 26, Khima Thapa, 43, Juna Thapa, 38, Raju Thapa, 36, of Musikot municipality-2, Sumitra Sunar, 47, of Musikot municipality-3 and Radha KC, 50, of Bharatpur, Chitwan, said police.
