Nepali Congress membership dispute resolved in 10 more districts



KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has settled disputes regarding the party’s active membership distribution in 10 more districts for party’s upcoming 14th General Convention.

The NC has already made public details of party active membership of 57 districts where party’s ward level convention have completed. The convention started on September 3.

Of the remaining 20 districts, the disputes regarding the issue have been completed and membership cards have been printed and work was on to disclose details of party active membership of 10 districts, said party office’s chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel. Details of party membership would be submitted to party’s central election committee after sorting out disputes soon, he said.

The committee will begin the ward level convention in the remaining districts only after receiving details of party active membership from the districts, it has been said. The convention at village-municipal ward level in the remaining 20 districts is scheduled to take place on September 21. Likewise, it will take place at village-municipality level on September 25.

The House of Representatives regional convention-the district convention is slated for October 4. The provincial convention is scheduled for October 27-29 and the central general convention for November 25-29.
