Two arrested with over 3 kg gold jewelry from TIA

KATHMANDU: Two persons have been arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) along with over 3-kilogram gold ornaments.

They were found in possession of 3.360-kg gold jewelry that they were taking to Biratnagar from Kathmandu at TIA Monday. TIA’s luggage scanner detected the gold in their bags.

According to the Airport Security Police Office, the gold worth Rs. 22.492 million was recovered from Bodhraj Bhandari, 30, of Kailali and Murari Raj Adhikari, 47, of Dhanusha.

They were made public on Tuesday and sent to the Revenue Investigation Department in Harihar Bhawan, Pulchowk, for further investigation.
