KATHMANDU: The Weather and Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the next couple of days due to the impact of the monsoon and other weather patterns.

According to the Department, the monsoon is likely to more active from July 17 to 19.

The Department said that the monsoon is active across the country with a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in several parts as the monsoon low-pressure line is likely to come close to the Terai region of Nepal from July 17 to 19.

Likewise, water vapor-laden air is also likely to come from the Bay of Bengal.

The Department has urged people to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall in some places of Sudhupaschhim Province, Karnali Province, and Lumbini Province, and a few places of other provinces.

The flow of water in the rivers may also increase the risk of floods in the Terai, it said.
