UML leader urges PM Deuba to appoint him as minister

KATHMANDU: A CPN-UML lawmaker close to Oli faction of the CPN-UML has urged Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to appoint him as a minister in his cabinet.

According to Budhanilkantha sources, the UML leader, who was also the minister in the Oli cabinet, has reached Budhanilkantha and requested Deuba to make him a minister in his cabinet.

“You have to take the vote of confidence sooner or later. I have eight ministers in my support.  We will cast votes for you even by crossing the floor. You have to appoint me as the minister in return,” said the UML leader.

When asked, Budhanilkantha source did not reveal the name of the UML leader on the condition of anonymity he requested. He is a lawmaker from the Far-western Province.

He has been dissatisfied with Oli since the latter did not pick him as the minister when he reformed his cabinet for the last time during his stint as the Prime Minister.
