Fact Check: Did PM Deuba appoint Kulman Ghising as NEA MD?



KATHMANDU: Reports that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba appointed Kulman Ghising as Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director splashed on social media and some news portals.

Social media users and readers applauded the “news” saying that the NEA will take a new height under Ghising’s leadership.

However, the fact is that Prime Minister Deuba and his cabinet did not make any decisions as claimed.

The first cabinet meeting decided to focus on stemming the spread of coronavirus and ensuring vaccination to all Nepalis within the next one year.
