Sudurpaschim government presents Rs 30.33 billion budget



SURKHET: Sudurpaschim government has brought a budget of Rs. 30.33 billion for the coming Fiscal Year 2021/22.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prakash Bahadur Shah presented a budget of Rs 30.33 billion in the province assembly on Tuesday.

Minister Bohara announced a current budget of Rs 10.66 billion (35.1 percent) and a capital budget of Rs 17.65 billion.

The budget has been reduced by about Rs 3 billion from the current fiscal year. A budget of Rs. 33.28 billion was presented for the current fiscal year.

The lawmakers from the Sudurpaschim province will be able to spend Rs 30 million in next year’s budget as well. A budget of Rs. 960 million has been allocated at the rate of Rs. 30 million to run the province infrastructure development program in each constituency.

Similarly, Rs 5.12 billion has been allocated for national pride projects and  the continuation of the programs in operation, Rs 2.2 billion for embankment, Rs 1.34 billion for drinking water project and Rs 160 million for CM Agriculture and Livestock Development Program.

The health sector has been given special priority in the budget.

A budget of Rs 2.42 billion has been allocated for the Hospital Upgrade and Service Improvement Year program, Rs 900 million for the prevention and treatment of epidemics including coronavirus, Rs 1.17 billion for school improvement program and Rs 50 million for women empowerment program.

Likewise, the budget has addressed the issues related with Badi communities’ poverty alleviation. Rs 30 million has been allocated for poverty alleviation of the Badi community, Rs 209 million for construction of Kailas Manasarovar entrance, Rs 25 million for infrastructure development in Khaptad region and Rs 100 million for employment of families affected by the armed conflict.
